JSC “The Seventh Continent” July 2010 trade sales increased 8% YoY.

JSC “The Seventh Continent” (further referred to as the Company) July 2010 trade sales in USD terms increased 8% YoY.

The growth in sales in USD terms in the hypermarket format for July 2010 reached 20%. The growth in regional sales in USD terms for July 2010 reached 26% YoY.

Based on management accounts the Company’s July 2010 gross retail sales[1] reached 4 061 mn. rubles or USD 133 mn.

JSC “The Seventh Continent” was established in 1994 and today is an international retail chain and one of the leading Russian national chains. The Company operates in two major formats: supermarkets and hypermarkets. As of the end of July 2010 the Company has stores in Moscow and Moscow region (121 supermarkets and 4 hypermarkets), in Kaliningrad region (10 supermarkets), in Ryazan (1 hypermarket), Chelyabinsk  (1 hypermarket) in Minsk, Belorussia (1 hypermarket), in Perm (1 hypermarket), in Belgorod (1 hypermarket) and in Yaroslavl (1 hypermarket).

According to the audited financial statements, prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, in 2008 total revenues of the Company were 39 880  mn. rubles, net income 1 170 mn. rubles.
